The government will be stable as long as there are enough MPs to support it. This was stated by the Speaker of the National Assembly Natalia Kiselova to journalists on the occasion of the vote of no confidence announced by the PP-DB, which is expected to be submitted after the start of the new political season.
"In a fragmented parliament, each political force wants to have its own face in order to stand out. The vote of no confidence is a normal parliamentary tool in the hands of the opposition," commented Kiselova, who attended the celebrations marking the 148th anniversary of the Shipka epic.
The Speaker of the National Assembly also commented on the upcoming visit to Bulgaria of the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.
"She is arriving in Bulgaria as part of a tour of NATO's southern flank. Her visit is aimed exclusively at meetings with representatives of the executive branch, including a visit to VMZ-Sopot. This is a diplomatic sign and part of the EU's strategy in the conditions of an unstable international situation," Kiselova pointed out.
Kiselova outlined the main priorities for the parliament and the government:
According to the Speaker of the National Assembly, the biggest challenge facing the first budget in euros will be the balanced distribution of funds.
"Everyone wants more money than there is in the state. It must be distributed in such a way that it does not feel that it is given to some at the expense of others," Kiselova said.
