One of the largest construction companies in Lithuania - PST Group, has started construction of an artillery ammunition plant in the country, together with the German defense concern Rheinmetall. According to the press service of PST Group, the contract is worth 141 million euros.
The plant will be located in the northwestern city of Baishogala. Its commissioning is planned for the end of 2026.
The partners have created a joint venture Rheinmetall Defence Lithuania. Vilnius owns 49% of the shares. The plant will produce 10,000 155-millimeter artillery shells per year.
