Scientists have reconstructed the appearance of Mozart from his skull

Forensic methods were used

Scientists have reconstructed the appearance of Austrian composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart from his skull, Anthropological Review reported.

An international team of scientists used forensic methods for the reconstruction.

The researchers used 3D modeling, soft tissue thickness data from 18th-century Europeans, and anatomical deformation of a virtual “donor“.

The reconstruction of the appearance is carried out taking into account anatomical features. It is noted that the main part of the skull is preserved in good condition, despite the absence of a jaw and some teeth.
