Ridiculous: Three Nigerians died in a septic tank trying to retrieve a phone

A fourth was pulled out of the hole alive

60-year-old Malam Danjuma, his 35-year-old son Ibrahim and their neighbor Aminu Gaye, also 35 ., from the village of Yar Gwanda in the Nigerian state of Kano died yesterday in a septic tank while trying to find a mobile phone that had been discarded in it. A fourth person, 28-year-old Aba Alasan, was pulled out alive, the Nigerian news agency NAS reported, dariknews.bg reported.

According to the Kano State Fire Service spokesman, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi, the incident occurred on Sunday morning.

“We received an emergency call to the Tsanjava City Fire Department at around 11 am from a resident of Yar Gwanda that four people were stuck in a septic tank. "We immediately sent a rescue team to the scene 15 minutes later," Abdullahi said.

“Danjuma was trying to get his mobile phone, fell into the septic tank and got stuck. His son then goes inside to save his father, but also gets trapped. Gaye and Alasan also go inside to save them, but they also get stuck, added the fire service spokesman.

Abdullahi said the first three victims were taken out unconscious, while the fourth victim remained alive. They were handed over to Iro Lado, the local police chief. After that, they were taken to the hospital, where the medics declared the death of the three.
