On May 15, we celebrate the International Day of the Family, FOCUS reminds.

International Family Day International Family Day was established in 1993 by the United Nations General Assembly. It reflects the importance that the international community places on families. The international day provides an opportunity to promote awareness of family-related issues and increases knowledge of social, economic and demographic processes that affect families.

World Family Day aims to draw public attention to a number of problems in the family.

In its resolution, the UN General Assembly also noted that family-related provisions resulting from major United Nations conferences and summits of the 1990s and their follow-up processes continue to provide guidance on ways to strengthen political components and programs aimed at families, as part of a comprehensive approach to development.
