Today, May 20, is the International Day of Human Resources Professionals. The initiative was launched in 2019 at the suggestion of sector representatives from 12 countries on the Old Continent - Germany, Greece, Denmark, Israel, Spain, Italy, Cyprus, the Netherlands, Lithuania, North Macedonia, Portugal, Slovenia, and is quickly gaining popularity.
The campaign is called #HumanResourcesDay and is under the auspices of the European Association for People Management EAHM.
The purpose of the award is to highlight the contribution of the HR profession to sustainable business. It has its role in making us more prepared to meet the future, when the skills needed to practice many professions will largely change. As a result, workers will need serious retraining and upgrading of their qualifications, which is also the subject of HR activities.
