A 3,600-year-old bronze dagger believed to be from the Minoan civilization, was discovered off the coast of Turkey. This is a major archaeological discovery, Anatolia Agency reported, quoted by NOVA.
Turkish Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy announced the find on social network X. He wrote that “underwater excavations carried out off the coast of Kumluk in Antalya discovered a bronze dagger with silver rivets attributed to the Minoan civilization in Crete“.
Ersoy emphasized the importance of the discovery, calling it one of the most important finds in the history of underwater archeology not only in Turkey, but globally.
The minister also expressed his gratitude to Akdeniz University and the Directorate of Excavations and Research for their hard work in discovering the ancient artifact.
