Ed Sheeran is a British singer, musician and songwriter. He was born on 17 February 1991 in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, and grew up in Framlingham, Suffolk. In 2008, he moved to London to pursue a musical career. In 2011, Sheeran released an independent EP “No. 5 Collaborations Project“, which attracted the attention of Elton John and Jamie Foxx. Sheeran's popularity abroad has been growing since 2012. In the United States, he participated in Taylor Swift's fourth studio album – Red – and wrote songs for One Direction. The A Team was nominated for “Song of the Year“ at the 2013 Grammy Awards, and performed the song there as a duet with Elton John. He spent much of 2013 touring North America, as well as supporting Swift on The Red Tour.
In the fall of 2013, he headlined three sold-out shows at Madison Square Garden in New York City. His second studio album, titled “x“ (pronounced multiply), was released on June 23, 2014. It reached number one on the UK Albums Chart and the US Billboard 200.
In 2015, “x“ won the Brit Award for “Best British Album of the Year“ and was nominated for Album of the Year at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards. As part of his world tour to promote “x“, Sheeran played three shows at London's Wembley Stadium in July 2015, the most substantial solo performances of his musical career.
Sheeran's song “Make It Rain“, a cover of Foy Vance, was the finale of the series Sons of Anarchy (2008 - 2014).
In August 2020, his daughter – Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran was born.
