In a comment to journalists in the National Assembly, Peevski challenged President Radev to resign and appear on the political field. “There was fear in Radev's eyes, not in ours, of the emergence of a new political formation. I expect him to resign and see him on the political field. Let him become a political leader, let him have the dignity to be one. Let us meet in the European elections - that is dignified. The only thing that is undignified is that this party is financed with dirty money from his official mandates“, said Peevski.

Peevski is categorical that the institutions must work so that there is an answer to all cases and people can be calm. “Everything must be checked. It is wonderful that everything that Mr. “Cash“ says should be verified”, explained Peevski, referring to President Radev's calls for the competent authorities to verify the cases of Corpbank, Bulgartabac, Gebrev and BDB.

“The dictatorship of Mr. “Cash“ is over. He came out, said he would form a party. I am waiting for him on the field, on the political field”, specified Peevski, after which he announced that today the Prosecutor's Office said that it could not take action against the head of state because he has immunity. “So there are cases that are waiting for his immunity to be lifted. I want to know what they are”, is categorical Delyan Peevski.

The leader of “DPS – New Beginning” Delyan Peevski made sharp comment to President Rumen Radev, calling on him to create his own political party. “Rumen should go out and create his own party with Koprinka and Uzunov. And all the merchants. I am waiting for him on the field“, said Peevski in a statement to the media. His words come against the backdrop of increased political speculation that Rumen Radev may announce the creation of a political project after the end of his presidential term. Peevski's statement caused a wide media and public response, with analysts defining it as the beginning of an open political clash between the president and the leader of “DPS - New Beginning“. So far, there has been no official comment from the presidential institution regarding Peevski's words.

“Progressive Bulgaria“ of Rumen Radev, who is already on the political field, wins the elections convincingly. And GERB-SDF, “We continue the change – Democratic Bulgaria“, DPS – New beginning and “ Revival“ are the other parties that enter the parliament. Remaining below the line are “Velicie“, MECH, “BSP – United Left“, “Siyanie“, APS, “Ima takoj narod“ and others. “Progressive Bulgaria” of Rumen Radev will have a majority in the parliament – over 130 deputies, which allows it to form a government alone. 1,444,924 people voted for Radev's party. 433,755 people voted for GERB-SDF. 408,845 people voted for PP-DB.

What happened
Rarely in Bulgarian politics has moments when words return with such force to their authors. In 2024 and 2025, Delyan Peevski insistently invited Rumen Radev to "go out onto the field", to form a party and face a direct political confrontation. On April 19, 2026, this confrontation is already a fact - and the result is more than definitive. Radev's victory is not just an electoral success. It is a demonstration of how the anti-system energy accumulated over years can be channeled into a clear political project. The irony is obvious - it was precisely the pressure from his opponents that accelerated this process. What was supposed to be a challenge became a catalyst. However, the big problem begins after the victory. Because when you enter politics as an "alternative to the model", you have no right to become a new model. Voters did not simply give trust - they delegated an expectation to dismantle a system associated with dependencies, backroom deals, and concentrated power.

And here comes the hard part. It is easy to win elections against the status quo. It is much harder to govern without reproducing it.

If the formation around Radev really has an independent majority, this means full responsibility - without coalition excuses, without "guilty partners". The political clash between Radev and Peevski is no longer rhetoric, but reality. The question is whether it will remain at the level of mutual accusations or will it be transferred to the institutions - prosecutor's office, regulators, services. Because that is where it will be decided whether the "dictatorship" that was talked about is really over, or is simply changing its face. The victory on April 19 is not the end, but the beginning of a much more dangerous phase - the phase of expectations. And they are merciless. Because this time the society will not wait long. And if the promised "cleansing" of the system turns out to be another political illusion, the disappointment will not be just electoral - it will be systemic. Thus we arrive at the impossible "love" for Bulgaria, which “burns” the hearts of the PEOPLE. After all, all politicians love us. But they – the politicians, do not know one thing: they cannot do without us, but we can do without them.
