Former Bulgarian national football player Georgi Peev believes that coach Alexander Dimitrov will achieve results at the helm of the team, and to that end he must help young players develop. Peev believes that the team will progress under the leadership of Alexander Peev.

"Iliyan Iliev was a very good option. For me, he is one of the best coaches in the Bulgarian championship, if not the best. With Sasho Dimitrov, the team will progress. We are in a very strong group and he took over the team in a very bad period. After not having a win, the boys have no self-confidence. It is quite difficult to play like this. Especially against strong opponents. We were unable to achieve victories and meet the weaker ones. This seriously shakes the self-esteem of every footballer," he shared in an interview with BNT.

The long-time Bulgarian international described Svetoslav Vutsov's decision to leave the national team as incorrect.

"When a footballer breaks the rules, he should be punished and bear the punishment. He is a very good goalkeeper with a great future. His future lies with the national team. He shouldn't worry about conceding 5 goals. Let him save 10. This decision of his was not correct," Peev added.

According to him, the national team's lineups should be a mixture of experience and youth.

"Let's carefully monitor the form of each player. Everyone who is in good shape at the moment should be called up to the team. It is preferable to call up young players. The young ones should progress alongside the experienced ones. "It is a good decision to give way to young players," added the offensive player.

Peev hopes that the decisions of the new management of the Bulgarian Football Union will yield results.

"We will see the results of the decisions later. The decision for the young players was positive. The decisions may not be liked by the clubs, but this can have a good effect on Bulgarian football. Stiliyan Petrov is a very good friend of mine, but I respect both of them", revealed the midfielder.

Peev, who played four seasons in Group A with Lokomotiv Sofia, is happy to see competition in the First League.

"I really like how Ludogorets played over the years. I don't like them at all this year, not even last year. They lowered the bar. I am glad that Levski is showing good football. CSKA is progressing under Yanev's leadership. I'm glad there's competition," he added.

The former Lokomotiv Sofia player advises young players to set high goals.

"I made the transition from school to men's football with great desire. Every day I strove to achieve something big. I've always set high goals. I didn't become the greatest player, but I reached a high level. My advice is for young people to set high goals," Peev is categorical.
