Malena Zamfirova made an excellent start to the season for the Alpine Snowboarding World Cup in Milin, China. The best Bulgarian competitor rode great in only her sixth start for the World Cup and won the small final against the first qualifier Zuzana Maderova, Czech Republic. Although she fell in the semi-final, Malena found the strength to ride great for the podium spot, BTA reports.
The winner in the women's category today is Lucia Dalmasso, Italy. For Malena, this is the second podium in the World Cup after the second place in Krinitsa last season. She also earned 60 points for the World Championship, where she is currently third.
In the men's event, Rado Yankov entered the finals with the 13th result from the qualifications, but in the round of 16 he was stopped by the fourth seed Aaron Marsh, Italy. In the final standings, Rado is fourth. The winner is Maurizio Bormolini, Italy.
