Great Britain triumphed in the mixed team snowboardcross competition at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina, BTA reports. Hugh Nightingale and Charlotte Banks brought home the title in a format that is on the Olympic program for the second time. Nightingale handed over the baton with a minimal gap, but Banks made a strong descent and turned the tide in favor of the British.
The silver medals were won by the representatives of the host country from Italy - Lorenzo Sommariva and Michela Moioli. Moioli added the distinction to her bronze in the women's individual event, while the Italian tandem remained 0.43 seconds behind the winners.
The bronze went to France, with Loane Bozzolo and Lea Casta, who were 0.55 seconds behind. Fourth in the final were Australians Adam Lambert and Josie Buff, champion in the women's individual event.
Both teams of the 2022 Winter Olympics Olympic champion - the United States - were eliminated in the quarterfinals. The Beijing champion in this event, 44-year-old Nick Baumgartner, who then triumphed in tandem with Lindsay Jacobellis, this time partnered with Faye Thelen, but the two finished last in their quarterfinal.
