Goztepe (Izmir), led by Bulgarian coach Stanimir Stoilov, recorded a valuable 2-0 victory over Antalyaspor in a match from the 31st round of the Turkish Super League. The success is of particular importance for the team, since a day earlier its main competitor for fifth place - Basaksehir (Istanbul), also won convincingly 4-0 against Kasimpasa, reports BTA.

The hosts decided the match right from the start. Juan Santos opened the scoring in the 14th second, scoring the fastest goal of the season in the Super League. The pressure of the “yellow-reds” continued and in the 22nd minute Arda Kurtulan doubled the lead.

Bulgarian midfielder Filip Krastev started as a starter for Göztepe and remained on the field until the 69th minute, when he was replaced by Uğur Yıldız.

By the end of the first half, Antalyaspor created several dangers, but failed to score. After the break, the guests looked more active and came to new chances, but were again not effective enough in front of goal.

In the middle of the second half, Göztepe regained control of the game and maintained their lead, and no new goals were scored until the end.

After this success, the team from Izmir collected 51 points, the same as Basaksehir, but remains in sixth place due to a worse goal difference. Antalyaspor has 28 points. In the next round on May 2, Göztepe will visit Trabzonspor, while Başakşehir will face Fenerbahçe.
