Neymar's father: I want my son to stay at Santos

The 33-year-old player is in the final weeks of his contract with the Brazilian team

The father of Brazilian footballer Neymar said that he wants his son to stay at Santos, BTA reported.

Neymar is in the final weeks of his contract with the Brazilian team, but has not yet signed an extension agreement.

His father Neymar Sr. said that the 33-year-old footballer is happy at Santos and hopes that he will stay, as he has been given a chance to revive his career there after a series of injuries.

"I want him to stay. Santos opened its door for Neymar's recovery. He needed to play after being absent for more than a year and a half," the footballer's father told ESPN.

"He is happy again, close to his friends and family. "Santos is the right environment for him to continue, but we have to make many situations possible. To maintain his social and professional life, but also to maintain the brand he has built. We had offers, but we are not accepting them because he wants to recover a little more, to reach his ideal level," added Neymar Sr.
