Panama defeated Guadeloupe 5:2 in a match from Group C of the "Gold Cup" tournament in the CONCACAF zone, BTA reported. The match was played in Carson, California.
Panama dominated completely, leading 4:0 in the first 22 minutes and controlling possession of the ball in 63% of the match.
Ismael Diaz scored two goals, and Christian Martinez, Eduardo Guerrero from the penalty spot and Tomas Rodriguez added one goal each for the Panamanians.
CSKA winger Matias Phaeton started for Guadeloupe, but did not perform at a high level and was replaced after an hour of play by Florent David. It was David who scored a penalty in the 71st minute, awarded for a foul on former Levski defender Jose Cordoba, who came on as a substitute for Panama. The other goal for Guadeloupe was scored by Jordan Leborn before the break.
Oscar Santis scored in the first half and Guatemala defeated Jamaica 1-0 in the other Group C match, also played in Carson, California.
Santis scored the only goal in the 32nd minute.
