The American club from Major League Soccer (MLS) FC Cincinnati has made a serious offer to attract German football legend Thomas Muller.
This was confirmed by the club's CEO Jeff Berding to the German newspaper Bild.
“We made him a good offer, we had some conversations with his agents. Ultimately, he has a lot of options. We respect him if he and his agents are looking for something else.
It's part of the football business“, commented Berding. The 35-year-old Muller's contract with Bayern Munich expires after the end of the Club World Cup, which is being held in the United States and continues until July 14.
The 2014 World Cup champion has already announced that he will not renew his contract with the Bavarian giants, in whose ranks he spent an impressive 25 years - from a teenager to a club icon. So far, Muller himself has not revealed what his future plans are.
The only thing he has commented on is his desire to use the Club World Cup as a “platform for a little self-promotion“ - a statement that fuels rumors of a possible adventure outside of Europe.
