Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Halliburton tore his right Achilles tendon in Sunday night's Game 7 loss to Oklahoma City, ESPN reported, quoted by BNR.
The guard was helped off the court and immediately taken to the locker room in apparent pain during the first quarter.
Without Halliburton, the Pacers fell 91-103 and Oklahoma City won the championship.
The 25-year-old Halliburton was playing with a strained right calf, an injury believed to have been sustained in Indiana's Game 5 loss to Oklahoma City.
The initial recovery estimate for the basketball player is eight to ten months.
Halliburton averaged 18.6 points, 9.2 assists and 3.5 rebounds in 73 games (all as a starter) during the regular season.
