Ludogorets (Razgrad) started the defense of its title in the Bulgarian football championship with a significant victory, after winning 5:0 over the capital's Septemvri in a match from the first round of the efbet League. The match at the "Huvepharma Arena" was a dress rehearsal for the "Eagles" before the matches with Rijeka, BTA reported.
Ludogorets created the first situation in the 60th second and Erik Bile missed from a small angle, but the hosts took the lead in the ninth minute. Deroy Duarte was brought down in the penalty area by Martin Hristov, and Ivaylo Chochev was accurate from the penalty kick.
Bille twice and Stanislav Ivanov once made mistakes until the end of a dominant half for the champions, and the goals came at the beginning of the second.
Four minutes after the restart, Emerson broke through from the left and headed the ball to Erik Bille, who was accurate in the far corner for 2:0. Stanislav Ivanov scored the third goal in the 55th minute, when the newly recruited striker took advantage of an assist from Joel Anderson.
Deroy Duarte scored for 4:0 in the 77th minute, when he received a pass on the left wing and sent the ball with a bomb shot under the crossbar. Olivier Verdon scored the final goal from a penalty in added time.
There were no more goals until the end of the match and the "eagles" are now looking towards the Champions League and Rijeka. The first leg is on July 22 in Croatia.
