CSKA coach Dusan Kerkez is hopeful that after the return of the injured players and the arrival of the new additions, the team will play better.
The coach admitted that he was not satisfied with the performance of his graduates in the draw with his former team Botev Plovdiv.
“The first match is always difficult. The atmosphere was good, thanks also to the Botev fans. I am not satisfied with the game. During the first 30 minutes, the energy was not good. I expected much more. We can play better and the newness of the game can be better. It is normal for Botev fans to be disappointed. I wish them success“, he shared in an interview for the program “Arena Sport“ on BNT.
The Serb admitted that the team lacks self-confidence. “We need to work psychologically in CSKA, because of the recent results. Self-confidence is very lacking. We have injured players. We expect new players to raise the level of the team. 100% this team will be at a better level in a month. We have a problem on the wings. We always need competition. We work day and night on the selection. We need time, and the fans deserve a better team. The goals are always high in CSKA, regardless of the selection. I expect faster and more direct football“, added the coach.
