Vezenkov still in doubt for the qualifiers with Austria and the Netherlands

Olympiacos' leader is recovering from an injury he sustained in his team's final series against Panathinaikos in Greece

Bulgarian basketball superstar Alexander Vezenkov remains in doubt for the upcoming matches of the national team's preliminary world qualifiers against Austria and the Netherlands, announced BF Basketball, quoted by FOCUS.

Olympiacos' leader is recovering from an injury he sustained in his team's final series against Panathinaikos in Greece last season.

In the coming weeks, the winger will have talks with the coaching staff, and the situation will be assessed at the moment.

Meanwhile, the team's coach Rosen Barchovski has called up two more players to train with the team. These are Hristo Bachkov and Georgi Gerganov, who will be available to the "lions" for the preliminary qualifiers.

David Kravish dropped out of the "tricolores" squad. The Unicaja center was supposed to join the national team's training camp after the tests with Romania, but in the end, this will not happen. The reasons for the absence of the American with a Bulgarian passport are medical.

Rosen Barchovski's team begins its participation in the preliminary qualifiers on August 6 with a visit to Austria in Schwechat, and three days later will host the Netherlands at the "Arena SamElion".

The Bulgarian team's next match is on August 16, when it will host Austria at the "Arena Botevgrad". Four days later, the "lions" will end the qualifiers with a visit to the "tulips" in Almere.
