At a ceremony to mark the 80th anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea, North Korean Chairman Kim Jong-un said he would lead the country forward while maintaining unity with the people, the Korean Central News Agency.
The event was held at the “May 1” Stadium in Pyongyang. Party and government officials, military and foreign delegations from friendly countries attended.
As Kim Jong-un ascended the podium to the sound of a march, fireworks exploded in the sky above the capital. Later, a ceremony to raise the North Korean national flag and the party flag was held at the arena. The politician delivered a speech.
“With faith in the people who support our party, I will certainly make this country richer and more beautiful, the most wonderful socialist paradise in the world“, he promised.
Moreover, in his speech, the DPRK leader noted that the basis of all the party's victories over its eighty-year history is the people, their trust and loyalty.
