Special forces from Albania, Kosovo, Croatia and the US conducted a joint exercise aimed at strengthening interoperability and exchange of experience, the Albanian Radio and Television reported, BTA reports.

The Chief of the General Staff of the Albanian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Arben Kinxhi, stressed the importance of cooperation between the troops and highly appreciated the role of the Albanian special forces as a source of national pride on the occasion of the 27th anniversary of their establishment.

Kinxhi added that Albania's special forces have a significant contribution to protecting national security and NATO values, and such exercises are proof of the commitment of the Alliance member states and their partners to increasing strategic cooperation in region.

Although Kosovo is not a member of NATO, the country is actively participating in the exercises, notes the Kosovo newspaper “Koha Ditore“. On March 18 in Tirana, Kosovo, Albania and Croatia signed a declaration committing to strengthen their cooperation in the field of defense and security, including through education, training and joint exercises.

The declaration also provides for coordination in the fight against hybrid threats, as well as improving the Euro-Atlantic integration policies of the three countries.
