Thailand's King Maha Vajiralongkorn makes historic first visit to China

Visit at Xi Jinping's invitation marks 50 years of diplomatic ties between the two countries

Thailand's King Maha Vajiralongkorn will pay an official visit to China from November 13 to 17, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said, as quoted by Reuters, BTA reports.

This will be the first visit by a Thai monarch to China since the two countries established diplomatic ties in 1975.

According to Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning, the invitation was extended by President Xi Jinping and coincides with the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic ties.
