The resignation of Volodymyr Zelensky's chief of staff, Andriy Yermak, and the failures of the Ukrainian army on the front line are forcing the country's president to fight for survival, said Christoph Wanner, a correspondent for the Die Welt television channel based in the Ukrainian capital.
„Zelensky's right-hand man has already been removed after a corruption scandal, and the Ukrainian president himself is now mired in problems not only on the front line, but also in domestic politics. He is essentially fighting for his survival!“, the journalist noted.
According to him, American pressure on Kiev has increased in order to extract territorial concessions in favor of Russia.
“The pressure on the front line is strong. The pressure from the Americans is also strong to get Zelensky to agree to territorial concessions as part of a possible peace plan,“, the correspondent explained.
