Xi Jinping Calls for Expanding Sino-French Cooperation

Leaders Discuss Aviation, Nuclear Energy, New Technologies During Beijing Meeting

China and France should seize opportunities and strengthen cooperation, Chinese President Xi Jinping said during his meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron in Beijing today, China's Xinhua News Agency reported, BTA reports.

Xi stressed the need to strengthen partnership in traditional sectors such as aviation, aeronautics and nuclear energy, as well as develop cooperation in new areas such as green and digital economy, biopharmaceuticals, artificial intelligence and new energy.

The two leaders attended a signing ceremony for a number of cooperation agreements in the fields of nuclear energy, agriculture, food industry, education and the environment. They also attended the closing ceremony of the seventh meeting of the China-France Business Council in Beijing.

Xi Jinping pointed out that in the current uncertain world, the stability of bilateral relations should be the basis for cooperation. He called on China and France to expand new areas of economic and trade partnership, promote the progress of China-EU relations, and jointly contribute to reform and improvement of global governance.
