Venezuela's government said on Monday that interim President Delcy Rodriguez met with US envoy Laura Dogue amid the resumption of bilateral relations, Reuters reported.
A government statement said the meeting took place at the "Miraflores" presidential palace and that the working agenda between Venezuela and the United States was discussed.
The government statement also noted that "the governments of Venezuela and the United States decided to move forward with a roadmap to resolve issues of bilateral interest through diplomatic dialogue and based on mutual respect and international law".
After months of heightened tension, the United States captured Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro a month ago, leading to changes in Venezuela - one of these changes is that Delcy Rodriguez, who was vice president before Maduro's capture, took over as president. She says she seeks balanced relations with the United States.
