Goldman Sachs General Counsel Kathy Ruemler will resign this summer following revelations about her ties to financier Jeffrey Epstein, who was convicted of child pornography, the Financial Times reported.
Ruemler told the publication that she would leave Wall Street on June 30. According to the newspaper, she made the decision to resign after documents released by the US Department of Justice in the Epstein case revealed that Rümler maintained contact with him between 2014 and 2019, even after the financier pleaded guilty to pedophilia.
On January 30, 2026, the US Department of Justice completed the release of over 3 million pages of documents, as well as more than 2,000 videos and 180,000 photos from Epstein's case file. They include dozens of names of members of royal families, prominent government officials, businessmen, diplomats and scientists from various countries.
Among Epstein's acquaintances are the 42nd US President Bill Clinton and the current US Prime Minister Donald Trump.
The publication of Epstein's full dossier was required by a law passed by Congress in November 2025 and signed by Trump.
The criminal prosecution of the financier in the US was terminated after his suicide in his cell in August 2019.
