US in favor of agreement on Iran's nuclear program

Rubio called the idea of a world without borders stupid

Washington prefers a nuclear deal with Tehran to a military scenario. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said this in an interview with Bloomberg.

According to the Secretary of State, the US should have sufficient military capabilities in the Middle East to “counteract“ Iran, which, according to the US administration, “should never have the ability to acquire nuclear weapons“.

The US Secretary of State noted that the West had to pay a high price for this.

The idea of a world without borders and replacing national interests with a global order is stupid and the West had to pay a high price for this. This view was expressed by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio at the Munich Security Conference.

“The idea that this rules-based order would replace national interests, that we would live in a world without borders, where everyone is a citizen of the world – that was a stupid idea“, he said. He added that the West had hoped that “economic and trade ties would replace the functions of the state“.

“We paid a high price for that“, Rubio said. “We embraced the dogmatic ideology of free and unregulated trade“, he noted.

The US Secretary of State pointed out that after the fall of the Berlin Wall “the euphoria of victory led the West to a dangerous delusion“ – the idea that “history is over“ and that the border between West and East no longer exists.
