At least two Palestinian militants have been killed in the Gaza Strip in the past 24 hours, the Israeli army announced, quoted by DPA.
"Several armed terrorists" were spotted on the Israeli side of the so-called Yellow Line in the northern part of the Palestinian-populated enclave, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced.
The line demarcates the Israeli army's withdrawal zone under the ceasefire agreement signed with the radical Palestinian group "Hamas" on October 10 last year.
The Israeli army said that the "terrorists" emerged from a tunnel and hid in the rubble, close to Israeli soldiers, posing an "imminent threat".
Two were definitely killed, and there are probably more eliminated, the IDF said. DPA notes that this information cannot be independently verified.
