Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has asked the country's electricity transmission network operator to stop emergency electricity supplies to Ukraine today if oil supplies via the "Druzhba" pipeline are not resumed. will not be resumed, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.

"From today, if the Ukrainian side turns to Slovakia with a request for help to stabilize the Ukrainian energy network, it will not receive such assistance," Fico said in a statement.

According to him, the measure will be lifted after the resumption of oil transit to Slovakia.

Deliveries of Russian oil to Hungary and Slovakia have been interrupted since January 27, when, according to Kiev, a Russian drone struck oil pipeline equipment in western Ukraine.

Despite the nearly four-year war with Russia, Ukraine has continued to transport Russian oil through oil pipelines on its territory. Early last year, however, Kiev cut off Russian gas transit.

Hungary and Slovakia have threatened to cut off electricity supplies to Ukraine if oil supplies are not restored.
