At least 11 people have died in a truck explosion carrying liquefied natural gas in the northern part of the Chilean capital, BioBio radio station reported.
According to the health department, 10 injured people remain in hospital. Six of them are in serious condition, with life-threatening injuries.
The explosion occurred on February 19 in the capital's municipality of Renco. Initial reports indicated three deaths. The explosion occurred when the driver of the gas truck lost control and crashed into a road barrier.
Several other vehicles traveling on the highway at the time were also engulfed in flames.
