Iran has never asked the US for a ceasefire; the Islamic Republic is ready to defend itself as long as necessary. This was stated by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.

“No, we have never asked for a ceasefire, nor have we even asked for negotiations. We are ready to defend ourselves as long as necessary“, he said in an interview with CBS.

Iran sees no compelling reason to start negotiations with the US; Tehran has not asked for them, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said.

“No“, he said in an interview with CBS television when asked whether Tehran had contacted him directly or through intermediaries about the negotiations. “We are quite stable and strong and we are defending our people from this act of aggression. We see no reason to negotiate with the Americans. We were talking to them when they attacked us, and this happened for the second time. We don't have a good experience in communicating with the Americans.“

Iranian forces are only striking American military facilities and assets. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said this in an interview with CBS television.

“We are only striking American assets, American structures, American military bases“, he noted. Araghchi stressed that the Iranian side is only striking what “belongs to the Americans“. He said that the United States is striking Iran from the territory of other countries.
