The US has sent Iranian authorities a 15-point plan to end the conflict in the Middle East, The New York Times reports, citing US administration officials.

According to the newspaper, Pakistan acted as a mediator in implementing the plan. It remains unclear how widely the document was distributed among the leadership of the Islamic Republic and whether Iran intends to accept it as a starting point for negotiations.

According to the newspaper, the plan is aimed at the Islamic Republic's missile and nuclear programs. The document also addresses freedom of navigation.

On March 23, the American leader wrote in Truth Social that the US and Iran had held "constructive talks" over the past two days to end hostilities in the Middle East. He also announced that he had ordered the Pentagon to postpone strikes on Iran's energy infrastructure by five days.

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei told the IRNA news agency that Tehran had not held any talks with Washington, but had presented its position to mediators.
