The US has sent special forces to Iran to search for one of the missing pilots of a downed US fighter jet, the Telegraph reports. Two crew members have ejected, sparking a race between Tehran and Washington to find the pilots.
„One was rescued in an operation involving two US military helicopters and a low-flying tanker, the publication said.
A day earlier, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that it had shot down the second F-35 fighter jet since the start of the US and Israeli aggression. Tasnim initially reported that the military may have captured the pilot of the plane that ejected. Later, reports emerged that Tehran had offered a reward for the pilot's capture, contradicting the Iranian news agency's report.
In addition, the media did not specify which aircraft the pilot was flying, as there were reports that the Iranian Air Force had shot down an F-15. There was also conflicting information about the number of pilots, as the F-35 is a single-seat aircraft, while the latest modifications of the F-15 are two-seat aircraft.
