Israel has divided the territory in southern Lebanon it controls into three zones, following the ceasefire reached with the Lebanese government, DPA reported, BTA reported.

The first zone, the so-called red line, covers the villages directly along the border between Lebanon and Israel, writes the newspaper "Yediot Ahronot". Most of the buildings there have already been destroyed, and fighters from the Iranian-backed group "Hezbollah" are no longer stationed in the area. In some places, Israeli ground units have established permanent positions.

The Israeli army has not officially commented on the information at this time.

The second zone, called the yellow line, is located about 6 to 10 kilometers from the border. Israel is also implementing a similar model in the Gaza Strip, where it continues to control part of the territory after the ceasefire in October 2025.

The army's main goal in the area in Lebanon, which includes dozens of settlements, is to prevent shelling of northern Israel, mainly with rockets. Israeli forces continue to be deployed there, with reports of isolated clashes, including in the Bint Jbeil area, considered a Hezbollah stronghold.

The third line reaches the Litani River, about 30 kilometers from the border. In this area, the Israeli army intends to maintain control mainly through an armed presence and observation posts, the publication adds.
