The European Union has allocated nearly 2.8 billion euros to Ukraine, Reuters reports, News.bg reports.

The funds are part of the EU's ongoing efforts to support and finance Kiev amid the war with Russia.

European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Coss said the payment was a result of Ukraine's speed and commitment to implementing significant reforms.

According to her, the funds also pave the way for further progress in Ukraine's accession negotiations with the European Union.
