Passenger ferry with 69 people drifts without engine for two hours in North Sea

A passenger ferry lost power in the North Sea near the German island of Helgoland due to an engine failure. There were 69 people on board, NDR reported.

NDR reported that the engine of the ferry “Funny Girl“ failed 5 kilometers from the island of Helgoland, leaving the 68-meter ship drifting in the North Sea in a strong storm for about two hours.

The ship was later towed to the German city of Cuxhaven.

According to rescue services, no one on board was injured.
