Ukraine believes that Russia is preparing a new large-scale mobilization after the parliamentary elections in September. According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Moscow intends to call up about 300,000 more people to participate in the war against Ukraine. The information was quoted by Reuters, BTA reports.

In response to journalistic questions, Zelensky also said that Russia could mobilize hundreds of thousands of men in 2027. According to him, this would be part of Moscow's effort to achieve one of its main military goals - to establish control over the rest of the Ukrainian Donetsk region.

The warning comes against the backdrop of information from the Ukrainian side that the Kremlin could use the parliamentary elections in September as a political moment, after which it could launch a new campaign to recruit military personnel.

Earlier, Zelensky also said that, according to Ukrainian intelligence, Russia is preparing a new mobilization wave after the elections, with estimates of its scale reaching several hundred thousand people.

If Kiev's forecast is confirmed, the new mobilization would significantly increase the human resources that Moscow has at its disposal to continue the war. Zelensky warns that such a development would be directly related to Russia's intention to continue its offensive in eastern Ukraine.

Russia has not publicly confirmed the claim of a planned mobilization of 300,000 people after the elections. Therefore, Zelensky's assessment should be viewed as a statement by the Ukrainian leadership, based, according to him, on intelligence information.
