The Israeli army announced last night that the hostages kidnapped in the attack by the Palestinian Islamist movement "Hamas" on October 7 last year, are in Rafah, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, where Israel has declared that it is determined to carry out a military offensive, reported France Presse, quoted by BTA.
"We also have hostages in Rafah and we will do everything in our power to bring them home," said army spokesman Daniel Hagari.
The international community fears an offensive in Rafah would threaten the safety of the 1.5 million Gazans who have taken refuge there after the Israeli military's ground and air operations in other parts of the Palestinian enclave.
