Democrat Adam Smith: The best way out for Kiev is to keep what it has

Ukraine should not lose its access to the Black Sea and Kiev should put itself at risk, said Congressman

Adam Smith, Lead Member of the US House Armed Services Committee, said in an interview with Foreign Policy magazine that the best way out of the Ukrainian conflict for Kyiv would be to keep “what it has”.

Smith believes that Ukraine and its 50 allies have the capacity to achieve this.

According to the Democratic congressman, the United States should be more “aggressive” in trying to find ways to negotiate directly with Russia to end the Ukrainian conflict.

„A critical part of Ukraine's survival is that they keep what they have, that they don't lose access to the Black Sea and that Kiev is not put at risk,”, he added.
