Vadim Skibitsky: Peace negotiations with Russia? Not earlier than the second half of 2025

The situation is as difficult as in the first days of the Russian invasion, said the deputy head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine

Deputy Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Vadim Skibitsky said in an interview with the Economist that the situation in Ukraine is as difficult as it was in the first days of the Russian invasion.

He added that it could get worse and suggested that peace talks with Russia might not start until the second half of 2025.

Skibicki expressed the opinion that the two sides are now fighting for “the most advantageous position”. “But full-fledged negotiations can begin no earlier than the second half of 2025,”, he said.
