Switzerland's vice chancellor died while hiking in the mountains

55-year-old Andre Simonazzi was president of the Federal Council

President of the Federal Council (government) and vice chancellor of Switzerland Andre Simonazzi died while hiking in the mountains, it is said in press release on the government portal.

The incident happened on Friday.
"He loved being in the mountains. On Friday, during one of his favorite hikes, he collapsed and died," the statement said.

55-year-old Simonatzi leaves behind a wife and three grown children. The members of the Federal Council and the Federal Chancellor expressed their condolences on the death of their colleague.
