US Ambassador to Germany Amy Guttman is leaving her post in the summer for personal reasons, DPA reported, quoted by BTA, a spokesman for the embassy in Berlin called.
She has informed her staff and colleagues in the German government of her decision to return to the US to be with her husband, who has to return there due to work commitments.
A former political science professor, Gutman, 74, is the US ambassador to Berlin starting in February 2022.
