Ukraine has asked the administration of US President Joe Biden to identify targets on Russian territory that Kiev could attack, reported The Wall Street Journal, citing US officials.
According to them, Kiev has asked Washington to remove restrictions on the use of American weapons against targets on Russian territory.
As the publication notes, this request was made last week and is now being considered by US authorities. Ukraine made such a request to the US against the background of the successes of the Russian army.
At the same time, as the WSJ points out, if the United States agrees to such steps, it would represent a “major change in administration policy”.
Earlier, the deputy head of the press service of the State Department Vedant Patel said that the United States does not support strikes by the Ukrainian armed forces on territory that is recognizes as Russian.
