China sanctions US companies over arms exports to Taiwan

Beijing bans them from making new investments in the country

China's Ministry of Commerce announced today that it will impose a ban on certain US companies from carrying out export and import activities related to with China, and will prohibit them from making new investments in the country, reported Xinhua, quoted by BTA.

The announcement said the companies were included in the list of “untrustworthy organizations” because they sold weapons to Taiwan.

The sanctioned companies are “General Atomics Aeronautical Systems“ (General Atomics Aeronautical Systems), “General Dynamics Land Systems” (General Dynamics Land Systems) and “Boeing Defense, Security and Security” (Boeing Defense, Space & Security).

High-ranking company executives are banned from entering China, their work and residence permits will be revoked, and future permits will not be issued, the statement said.
