The United States will participate in the peace conference in Ukraine planned for next month in Switzerland, Reuters reported, citing BTA, citing an unnamed American representative.
For now, it is not known by whom and at what level Washington will be represented, the agency added.
The representative answered a question about the call made earlier today by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to the President of the United States Joe Biden and the Chinese leader Xi Jinping to participate in the peace summit organized by Kiev, Reuters specifies.
The forum is expected to be held on June 15 and 16 in the Swiss resort complex Bürgenstock near the city of Lucerne.
On May 15, Swiss President Viola Amherd announced that more than 50 delegations out of more than 160 invited had responded to Switzerland's call to attend the summit, which the neutral host country hopes will pave the way for a peace process in Ukraine.
