Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Singapore to take part in the "Shangri-La Dialogue" security conference, Reuters reported. He is scheduled to meet there with US Defense Minister Lloyd Austin and discuss military aid for his country, BTA quoted.
Tomorrow, Zelensky will address the delegates of the “Shangri-La Dialogue”, the organizers of the conference announced.
"Volodymyr Zelensky's presence at the MISI (International Institute for Strategic Studies) Shangri-La Dialogue comes at an important time,' said Bastian Gigerich, general and executive director of the organizers of the MISI forum. “We are eager to hear his words”, he said.
Zelensky is expected to appeal to conference participants to attend and support the “peace summit” to be held this month in Switzerland.
On Wednesday, Ukraine's president said Russia was trying to derail a meeting planned for June 15 and 16, during which he expects to win support for withdrawing Russian troops from Ukraine and restoring its 1991 borders.
