Earthquake 75 km from Marmaris startled residents and guests of the resort

Last night, at 22:19, an earthquake was registered around the coast of the Greek island Rhodes, which has been felt all the way to the Turkish resort town of Marmaris. The quake measured 4.7 on the Richter scale and was 44.4 kilometers deep, according to the government's Disaster and Emergency Management Directorate (AFAD).

The Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center reported a slightly higher magnitude of 4.8, the effects of the quake were widely felt. The epicenter of the quake was only 75 km from Marmaris, in the Mugla region, but its range extended to the neighboring counties of Izmir, Ayden and Denizli, as reported by the Turkish publication Son Dakika.

Residents and tourists in Marmaris and surrounding areas were shaken by the unexpected earthquake, which caused excitement.
