Kiev mayor Vitaly Klitschko said that explosions were heard in the Ukrainian capital on Sunday morning.
The mayor urged all citizens to stay in shelters until further notice, stating that Ukrainian air defense forces are operating in the area.
Overnight, an air alert was declared in Kiev and several other regions because of the suspected missile attack.
