Washington announces second military loan to Poland of $2 billion

It is part of a massive program to modernize the European country's armed forces

The US last night announced a second deal with Poland for a direct loan for foreign military financing worth two billion dollars, as part of a large-scale program to modernize the armed forces of the European country, which will include the purchase of American defense equipment, the State Department announced, quoted by Reuters and BTA.

Poland will buy F-35 aircraft, Patriot missile systems (Patriot) and Abrams tanks (Abrams), State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said.

The first deal worth two billion dollars was signed in September 2023, Reuters recalls.
